In 2010, CNOOC International – alongside partners Iraqi Drilling Company and Turkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortakligi – signed a technical service contract for the development and production of the Missan Oil Fields located in southeast Iraq. CNOOC International holds a 63.75% participating interest in the contract and is the lead contractor.
The Missan Oil Fields incorporate a number of integrated facilities for processing oil, gas, water, and electricity, including:
- A terminal treatment plant
- The first natural gas treatment plant in Iraq
- A fresh water treatment plant
- An oily wastewater treatment plant
- A 110 megawatt power plant
- A 55 kilometre gathering trunk line
- A 53 kilometre crude oil transmission pipeline
In 2014, the oil transfer pipelines for the Missan Oil Fields commenced production, with a daily transport capacity of 500,000 barrels of crude oil.
