Buzzard
The CNOOC International-operated Buzzard asset has produced more than 800 million BOE and is one of the UK’s highest-producing fields, providing safe and secure energy for the UK.
Buzzard is located about 100 kilometres northeast of Aberdeen, UK, and produced first oil in 2007. Buzzard Phase II, a subsea development of the Buzzard northern area, commenced production in 2021.
CNOOC Petroleum Europe Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC International, is the operating partner of Buzzard (43.21%), with Equinor UK Limited (29.89%), Premier Oil UK Limited (part of Harbour Energy) (21.73%) and ONE-Dyas UK Limited (5.16%) also holding interests in the field and its facilities.
Golden Eagle

The CNOOC International-operated Golden Eagle platform is located about 111 kilometres northeast of Aberdeen, UK, and produced first oil in 2014.
Golden Eagle has an exceptional safety record spanning its operational life, achieving 11 years without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) in 2025. Continued development and a focus on safe and sustainable operations, has seen Golden Eagle produce more than 145 million barrels of oil equivalent.
CNOOC Petroleum Europe Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC International, is the operating partner of Golden Eagle (36.54%), with EnQuest Heather Limited (26.69%), NEO Energy (ZEX) Limited (31.56%) and ONE-Dyas UK Limited (5.21%) also holding interests in the field and its facilities.
Scott Area

The CNOOC International-operated Scott Area is located approximately 185 kilometres north-east of Aberdeen, UK, and commenced production in 1993.
The Scott, Telford, and Rochelle fields are tied into the Scott platform and have produced more than 660 million barrels of oil equivalent. The Scott and Telford fields continue to produce today. The Rochelle field ceased production in 2019.
CNOOC Petroleum Europe Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC International, is the operator of Scott, Telford, and Rochelle (41.89%, 80.40% and 79.29% respectively), with Dana Petroleum E&P Limited (20.64% Scott), Energean UK Limited (10.47% Scott and 15.65% Telford), NEO Energy Production UK Limited (5.16% Scott and 2.36% Telford) and Waldorf Operations Limited (21.84% Scott, 1.59% Telford and 20.71% Rochelle).
Ettrick & Blackbird
The Ettrick and Blackbird fields are located approximately 120 kilometres northeast of Aberdeen, UK. Both fields ceased production in June 2016 and decommissioning is underway.
CNOOC Petroleum Europe Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC International, is the operator of Ettrick and Blackbird (70.06% and 80.61% respectively) with Dana Petroleum (BVUK) Limited (13.08% Etttick) and CNOOC Ettrick U.K. Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC Limited (16.86% Ettrick and 19.40% Blackbird) also holding interest in the field and facilities.
Farragon
CNOOC International is a non-operated partner in the Farragon field. Farragon is developed as a subsea tie-back to the Andrew Area facilities operated by BP.
Farragon is operated by BP Exploration Operating Company Limited (80%) and CNOOC Petroleum Farragon Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC Limited (20%) also hold interest in the field and facilities.

Infrastructure Code of Practice (ICOP)
ICOP is the agreed processes and behaviours for accessing infrastructure such as pipelines or onshore terminals on the UK Continental Shelf.
