The Role:

Due to an internal move, our Operations Accounting team is seeking a part-qualified accountant to join as a Logistics Accountant, based in the Aberdeen office. This role requires a proactive individual who is a quick learner and committed to effective teamwork. The successful candidate will support the logistics team by providing financial advice and constructively challenging processes to deliver value.

This position is ideal for someone with strong planning and problem-solving skills who can work independently with various stakeholders. It also offers the opportunity to demonstrate initiative by identifying and implementing process improvements to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, fit-for-purpose service. To support ongoing development, the role provides a pathway for potential progression within the CNOOC Finance team after an agreed period, enabling you to broaden your knowledge and experience within the function.

You will:

In this role, you will focus on Process Improvement and Communication by proactively identifying gaps in existing processes and opportunities for enhancement. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to agree on and implement improvement plans, document and streamline processes to increase efficiency, and seek ways to develop and automate systems to enhance reporting and focus on value-added activities.

In the Logistics area, you will be working with key stakeholders to allocate and explain the logistics pool, including vessels, helicopters, and shore base operations. You will be responsible for maintaining logistics procedures, monitoring and reporting on logistics activities, and preparing monthly management reports, outlooks, and accruals with a strong attention to detail. There is scope to develop and improve systems to automate logistics processes and reports further. Familiarity with relevant contracts is essential to ensure compliance, and you will also coordinate and support the creation of budgets involving logistics, while maintaining the Accounts Receivable Register for logistics-related invoices. Additionally, you will provide support for joint venture and contract audits.

As a member of the team, you will also provide support and vacation cover for colleagues, including the Inventory Accountant. This offers opportunities for cross-training and skill development across various areas, ensuring collaborative and comprehensive support within the team.

Your Background
