Supporting the people of Thousand Islands
CNOOC International supports the communities where it operates and is involved in social welfare programs that enhance the wellbeing of the community and the environment. In collaboration with the Ministry of Environment of Indonesia, CNOOC International sponsored and implemented the Eco-system Preservation Project in the Thousand Islands area – a chain of islands north of Jakarta. The project focused on:
- Building and renovating school buildings, libraries and key religious areas
- Donating computers to schools
- Providing scholarships to college students
- Supplying residents with medical services
- Training residents in fishery and agricultural
- Providing relief assistance to disaster-hit areas
