CNOOC International has a diverse portfolio in Canada
CNOOC International has oil sands and shale gas assets in Canada.
Our oil sands business is a key part of CNOOC International’s global portfolio. Our Long Lake facility, located in northern Alberta just south of Fort McMurray, is a SAGD operation with production capacity of 72,000 barrels of bitumen a day. We also have interest in several other oil sands projects including Hangingstone, operated by Greenfire Resources Operating Corporation and Syncrude’s oil sands mining upgrading facility.
In addition to our oil sands business we have shale gas land in Northeast British Columbia, a power station in Balzac, Alberta, and interest in a wind farm in southern Alberta.
CNOOC International also acquired 100% working interest in two exploration licenses in Atlantic Canada, offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, where we safely and efficiently executed our first exploration well, Pelles, in 2021.
